Our pets

At the start of the year we decided to adopt a pair of guinea pigs who were looking for a loving, caring home. We wanted to provide the children with the opportunity of having a family pet, one we could all care for together. 

Meet Basil and Bertie, the children at chacombe preschool adore them and love taking care of them. They are encouraged to take on responsibilities to feed and groom them, learning many life skills on how to take care of an animal, as well as enjoying the lovely cuddles. 

They have daily access to our preschool garden where they can run and graze safely in the sunshine, alongside the children whilst they play.
